Role: Group Retail Manager – Greater Brisbane
Business Unit: Redcape Hospitality
Reports To: National Retail Manager
Location: Regional (with regular travel across assigned store network)
Direct Reports: Store Managers (indirect)
Purpose of the Role
The Group Retail Manager is responsible for leading the operational and commercial performance of a defined region of Redcape Hospitality retail liquor stores, typically comprising 10–12 outlets. The role plays a critical part in delivering strong financial outcomes, exceptional customer experiences, and supporting Redcape’s growth aspirations by complementing the on-premise hotel portfolio. As a member of the Retail Leadership Group, the Group Retail Manager works collaboratively with peers and the National Retail Manager to deliver consistent retail standards and performance.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Team Development
- Lead, coach, and support Store Managers to drive high performance, accountability, and engagement.
- Develop leadership capability and succession planning within the region.
- Embed Redcape values and a culture of operational excellence.
Retail Operations and Performance
- Drive sales, margin, and profitability outcomes across the regional store network.
- Ensure consistent execution of retail standards, compliance, and operating procedures.
- Conduct regular store visits and performance reviews, implementing corrective actions as required.
Growth and Network Development
- Support retail growth initiatives that complement Redcape’s on-premise hotel portfolio.
- Contribute to new store openings, refurbishments, and local growth initiatives.
- Leverage local market insights to optimise store performance.
Commercial Execution
- Execute national ranging, pricing, and promotional strategies to maximise GP and rebate outcomes.
- Ensure promotional programs and activations are executed to a high standard at store level.
- Provide commercial insights and feedback to support continuous improvement.
Customer Experience and Training
- Champion customer service standards and frontline engagement.
- Support the delivery of frontline training programs to enhance service and product knowledge.
- Maintain strong store presence and engagement with frontline teams.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with the National Retail Manager and fellow Group Retail Managers.
- Partner with hotel operators to strengthen retail and on-premise alignment.
- Collaborate with support teams to ensure consistent execution of retail initiatives.

Skills, Experience, and Qualifications
- Proven experience managing multiple retail sites, preferably in liquor, FMCG, or hospitality.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience driving sales and margin performance.
- Demonstrated leadership capability with a coaching and development focus.
- Strong communication, planning, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work autonomously while contributing to a broader leadership team.
Role Requirements
- Current unrestricted driver’s licence (essential).
- Access to a reliable motor vehicle (essential).
- Ability to travel regularly across the assigned store network.
